Bob and Dierdre, the principals and co-founders of Saltaire Hotels, share a keen interest in the re-use and repositioning of underperforming properties while maintaining and enhancing architectural quality and integrity

 
 

Dierdre Savage

Dierdre has over thirty years of experience in real estate including design, construction, property management, real estate investment banking and investment sales.

Prior to her work in hospitality, Dierdre developed over 200 residential units in Boston and Cambridge.

Dierdre's background includes national banking experience managing portfolios of nonperforming commercial estate loans, resulting in significant recoveries and the resolution of bankruptcy and litigation.  Dierdre also managed a loan product for institutional investors to facilitate their acquisition of commercial real estate nationally. 

Dierdre received a B.A. from the University of Delaware and an M.A. in Historic Preservation from Boston University.

Dierdre currently serves on the Board of Advisors of Harborlight Community Partners, which provides housing for essential workers and seniors, and related services on the North Shore of Massachusetts.

 
 

Bob Thomas

Bob’s career in real estate springs from an interest in architecture of all kinds and a commitment to the importance of design quality. Prior to his work in hospitality, Bob developed adaptive re-use and new construction housing and mixed-use projects in the New York and Boston areas. Bob also has national banking experience, including the management of distressed commercial real estate loans.

 As Project Manager at a New York based restoration consulting and contracting company, he designed and implemented restoration plans for many major historic buildings and monuments, including New York City’s Grand Central Terminal, the Annapolis Naval Academy Chapel, and the Minnesota State Capital.

Bob received an M.S. in Historic Preservation from Columbia University in New York City, and his undergraduate degree from Colby College in Waterville, ME.

Bob serves on the Fundraising Committee of DocomomoUS, on the Advisory Board of the Boston Preservation Alliance, and as a Mentor for Preservation Alumni, Columbia University
