Saltaire acquires and repositions mid-sized independent hotels in cultural, coastal and mountain markets, with an emphasis on an authentic sense of place, design quality, and guest experience. Our mission is to look at each potential acquisition as it could be, not just as it is today. 

Working with our design affiliate, CThomas Design, we seek to emphasize and enhance the best aspects of the original architecture, and to create an experience that allows our guests to truly feel a part of the community they are visiting. CThomas Design handles all Saltaire projects, and takes on select interior design commissions.

Along with introducing physical improvements to the property, we work with our branding and marketing partners to engage with our guest constituencies, and with the communities within which we work.

Working with our operator partners, we develop and maintain understated but deeply comfortable guest services and amenities.

We are committed to the tangible success of complex projects in collaboration with the best hotel managers, F&B operators, marketing professionals, designers and financial partners. Saltaire’s principals have combined more than 50 years of experience in real estate, including hotel design, development, construction and financing in challenging markets including New York City, Boston, Cambridge, Miami and San Francisco. To date, Saltaire’s principals have completed projects in excess of one billion dollars.
